Obligatory Welcoming First Post

Hello, and welcome to my humble abode.  Please, sit down.  Enjoy yourself.  Would you like a glass of something to drink?

If you’re reading this, you are reading my very first post on my blog.  Now, I know everyone in the entire world has a blog, and I would like to thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to read this one.  I’m sure there are many other blogs. Most, if not all, are more interesting than this one, so your patience is appreciated.

You may be wondering, Why should I read this blog?  You have no followers.  You are virtually a nobody.

First of all, is there any need to be so rude?  I mean, I invite you in and offer you a drink, and you insult me?  Second of all, you are a very astute observer.  However, might I make a plea for a simple moment?  Have you ever seen a caterpillar still in its cocoon and thought of how beautiful that being will be once it has matured and emerged from its shell?  Perhaps you’ve seen a baby, wide eyed and innocent, and thought That baby could grow up to be president.  Or cure cancer!  My blog is like that.  Only with dinosaurs.  And explosions.

Another thing you may have noticed is my distinct blogging style.  I have to admit, it is far from distinct.  I am a blatantly, pathetically unoriginal person, and my blogging style comes from the incredibly amazing Hyperbole and a Half and the very funny  I highly recommend you read both if you don’t already.

I know, I know.  I’m not making a very strong case for myself.  I mean, not only am I starting a blog, which everyone else in the world already has, but I’m openly admitting that I’m copying my style from another existing (and much more successful) blog.

I have no real defense except to point out that both Wheezy Waiter and the Vlogbrothers—two of YouTube’s biggest stars—started their blogs copying Ze Frank.  Now they create two distinctly different shows—different from each other and from Ze Frank.  Besides, while I may receive my inspiration from Hyperbole and Cracked, my art style is much different.  For one thing, on Hyperbole, Allie uses MSPaint (or the Mac equivalent) to create her art.  I am not nearly that talented.  I use good old fashioned pencil and paper.

[me. Allie.  See?  Waaaay different.]
For another thing…I don’t really have another thing.
Since this is the introductory post, I figure I should introduce a few things.

I will try to post twice a week.  It takes me a while to draw pictures, depending on how picture intensive the posts are.  I would like to make the pictures as quality as possible, so twice a week seems sufficient.

Anyway, this is me:

And this is my wife.

She’s pretty much the bomb-diggity.

And that’s pretty much it!  I would like to take this time to welcome you.  Thank you again.  I hope to have lots of content on here soon.  Keep an eye out.  Follow me if you wish.
